Four girl students die as abandoned bridge caves in

Balasore, Jun 21 (UNI) In a tragic incident, four girl students were killed and five injured when a dilapidated bridge near Dangaripada, about 60 kms from here, caved in today.

Police said the students, aged between 10 to 12, of Subarnarekha Primary School, went to the bridge in the afternoon after the school was over. When all of them were on the bridge, it suddenly collapsed.

Three students died on the spot while another succumbed on way to the hospital.Five other students injured in the mishap were rushed to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital.

Sources said, in absence of any urinal in the school premises, the students went to the bridge, when the mishap took place.
