First time SAD MLAs protest Cong behaviour in assembly

Chandigarh, June 21 (UNI) The behaviour of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in the Budget Session today, by banging of utensils in the Vidhan Sabha has left the first time Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLAs shocked.

A delegation of first time MLAs led by Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia called on Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon after the assembly session ended today and conveyed ''their sense of grief over the un parliamentary activities being indulged in by the opposition party in the House''.

In a statement later, Mr Majithia said that the seasoned leaders of the Congress party forgot the responsibility reposed in them by the electorate. They created an ugly scene in the assembly, disrupting the normal legislature work and wasting the precious time of House, he said.

Mr Majithia said when the government was doing more than what the SAD had promised on providing cheap wheat and pulses, the Congress was just raising the issue for the sake of showing its presence in the assembly. Seasoned and veteran leaders have to set an example of model code of conduct before the young MLAs and teach the first time MLAs etiquettes to be observed in the House, the statement added.
