Few spell of rains to hit Mumbai
Mumbai, June 21 (UNI) The Meteorological department has predicted a few spells of rain or thundershowers in parts of the city and suburbs in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a well marked low pressure area lies over east-central and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal. It is likely to concentrate into a depression and will move in a west-northwesterly direction across north Vidarbha and central Maharashtra.
As a result heavy rains are likely to hit Vidarbha during the next few days and the enhanced rainfall belt is likely to advance over the metropolis and rest of Maharashtra during June 23-26.
Meanwhile, the city recorded rainfall of 33 mm and 8 mm at Santacruz and Colaba respectively in the last 24 hours.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Konkan and at a few places over central Maharashtra and Marathawada regions. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to hit isolated places over North Konkan in the next 24 hours.
Further, moderate rainfall is likely to occur at a few places over south-central Maharashtra and Marathawada. Light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at a few places over north-central Maharashtra in the next 24 hours.
