Depression to bring more rains in AP
Hyderabad, June 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh will experience widespread rainfall in the next two days under the influence of a well-marked low pressure area over East Central Bay and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal which has turned into a depression.
The system, which lay centered about 300 km east-southeast of Kakinada was likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction and cross North Andhra Pradesh Coast between Narsapur and Vishakhapatnam by tomorrow morning, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
Under its influence, widespread rainfall with scattered heavy to very heavy rain fall were likely over Andhra Pradesh in the next 48 hours.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana with extremely isolated heavy rainfall likely in Prakasam, Guntur Krishna , West and East Godavari Districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 48 hours.
Squally winds with speeds reaching 50 to 60 kmph were likely along and off Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.
Fishermen had been advised against venturing into the sea.
Nizamabad, Bobbili and Metpalli recorded six cm of rainfall each, followed by in cms Bhimadole and Jagitiyal (5 each), Tuni, Banswada and Bodhan (3 each), Ramagundam, Amalapuram, Elamanchili , Salur and Terlam (2 cm each).
