CPI(ML) welcomes CM's statement on take over of land

Pathanamthitta, June 21 (UNI) The CPI(ML) today welcomed the reported statement of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan that over 50,000 acres of land illegally occupied by the Tata Tea Limited for decades would be taken over within two weeks.

Talking to UNI here, Party Central Secretary K N Ramachandran urged the government to extend the eviction to all districts where big plantation companies unauthorisedly occupied vast areas.

He wanted all such lands to be taken back and distributed among landless peasants.
