Tamil Nadu boy performs Caesarean, inquiry on

Tiruchirapalli, June 21: Tiruchirapalli District Collector Ashish Vachani has ordered an inquiry into the alleged 'Caesarean' on a woman by a teenager at a private nursing home in Manapparai, which shocked the medical fraternity.

An official release here said the Collector had ordered the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) at Tiruchi to conduct a probe into the whole episode and submit a report.

''We will take necessary action against the doctor couple if the incident was found to be true,'' the release quoted the Collector as saying.

The alleged 'Caesarean' by a 15-year-old boy, the son of a doctor couple, on a woman at Mathi Surgical and Maternity Hospital came to the light after the incident was taken seriously by the Tamil Nadu Chapter of Indian Medical Association.

The boy M Dhieepan Raj, a tenth standard student, had created a major controversy by performing the critical surgery with the assistance of his parents Dr Murugesan, a surgeon and his wife Dr M Gandhimathi, a Gynaecologist.
