Chana futures settles at Rs 2,216 at NMCE
Ahmedabad, June 21 (UNI) The Chana Desi futures in June-2007 series settled at Rs 2,216 per quintal at the National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE), whereas Guar seed settled at Rs.1,700 per quintal and Soya oil at Rs.482 per 10 kg.
The maturity price of these commodities that expired after the trading hour yesterday is arrived at by averaging out their closing prices on the preceding five days. NMCE usually launches new series for futures trading in these commodities on tenth of every month.
The latest series in these three commodities were launched on June 10. The new series in Soya oil and Guar seed will mature on August 20, and that in Chana desi on October 20. The first delivery day for the latest series will begin three days ahead of the maturity date, on August 17 and October 17 respectively.
The delivery centre for Chana is Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) warehouse in Delhi, whereas that for Soya oil is Indore in Madhya Pradesh and that for Guar seed are Jodhpur, Bikaner, Nokha in Rajasthan and Deesa in Gujarat with freight discount through CWC Receipt.
At present, NMCE runs futures contracts in about 160 series in 59 commodities, including rubber, cardamom, pepper, raw jute, bullion, base metals, besides guar seed and soya oil.
