Cement scarcity hits construction industry in Mysore
Mysore, June 21 (UNI) The Builders Association of India has expressed concern over the scarcity of cement and steep rise in its prices, which had resulted in construction works in the city coming to a stand still since one week.
Addressing the media persons BAI state president K Sriram said that the cement had been scarce in Mysore since the last two years.
There were 3600 building construction contractors in the city when a consignment of cement arrived in the city yesterday each contractors could get only 15 bags. The situation was not as acute in other places in Kanrataka, he said.
The large number of labourers who depend on construction industry have been denied their livelihood, he said.
