APSRTC bus passengers robbed

Guntur, June 21 (UNI) Passsengers of Vijayawada-Kurnool state owned APSRTC bus were robbed near Potluru village here in the wee hours today, according to the police.

Police said as the bus reached the naxal infected Potluru village, five persons in the bus whipped out knives, commanded the driver to stop the vehicle and ordered the passengers to surrender their valuables.

They escaped with the booty, which included jewellery, wrist watches, gold rings and cash valued at about Rs one lakh.

The assailants boarded the bus at Vijayawada, according to the bus driver.
