New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Mobile health vans would be made available in all the 36 Gender Resource Centres (CRCs), functioning under the Stree Shakti Programme, for women of weaker sections of society, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said today.

''The move will enable women belonging to weaker sections of the society to avail facilities of better treatment and medicines near their place of residence,'' Ms Dikshit said at the conclusion of her visit to two Gender Resource Centres--New Ashok Nagar and West Vinod Nagar.

She directed the Health officials to ensure proper and regular check up for women at GRCs.

''Iron and multi-vitamins tablets would be distributed free to women as they are generally found to be anaemic,'' she added.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by senior officials, expressed satisfaction over the ongoing vocational training programme at the centres which included cutting-tailoring, beautician and computer training.

She instructed officials of the Social Welfare Department to make arrangements for sale of handicrafts made by women at Dilli Haat.

''This would go a long way in women empowerment in Delhi,'' she added.

Ms Dikshit apprised about the special arrangements made to provide adequate eye care at the centres apart from immunization of kids.
