3 held for smuggling ganja into prison

Chennai, June 21 (UNI) Police today arrested three persons for attempting to smuggle two kg of ganja into the high security central prison at Puzhal near here.

Police said Francis of Vyasarbadi, Purushothaman and Sivaraj of Ambattur went to the prison to meet their relatives lodged there.

On checking the bags carried by them, the prison authorities found the drug tucked beneath fruits.

Later, they were remanded in judicial custody.
