15 hardcore Maoist guerillas arrested, arms recovered

Patna, Jun 21 (UNI) Altogether 15 hardcore guerillas of CPI(Maoist) including three women members, were arrested near Phulwarishariff, on the outskirts of the state capital here last night.

Police here today said acting on a tip off the city police intercepted a Gaya bound bus and arrested the Maoist guerillas.

Three country-made revolvers, several live cartridges and four mobile phones were also recovered from them.

The arrested guerillas were returning from the marriage party of the son of a senior Maoist leader Vijay Kumar Arya of Gaya after hiring a bus from the city.

Claiming that the arrest of such a large number of activists of the banned organisation as a 'major success' of the Bihar Police,the sources informed that while some of the arrested guerillas came from Gaya, others had their bases in Ranchi and other Maoist dominated districts of Jharkhand.
