Two policeman killed in naxal attack

Patna, June 19 (UNI) Two personnel of Government Railway Police (GRP) were killed and seven others including three pasengers were injured when a group of naxalite attacked Kathgodam Express at a railway crossing near Sonepur station under East Central Railway today.

Police said that a group of naxalite open fire on Howrah-bound Kathgodam Express, as it reached near Sonepur railway satation.

Two personel of GRP were killed and four others sustained injuries in the incident, police said, adding that at least three passengers were also injured in the attack.

Senior police and civil officers rushed to the spot after receipt of the incident.

Raids were being carried out to nab the naxalite, police said.
