Three die in lightning

Rourkela, June 20 (UNI) Three labourers were killed and four injured when lightning struck them at Dania near Kokarama village here last night, police said today.

They said the incident took place yesterday when the labourers, working on the construction of a bridge, took shelter in a house following heavy rains.

Of the eight labourers, who had taken shelter, three died on the spot and four others, including the contractor, were injured and later shifted to a hospital.

The labourers were later discharged from the hospital, but the condition of the contractor was stated to be critical, the police said.
