Tension boiling at border

Aizawl, June 20 (UNI) Tension was mounting near Mizoram-Asom border with Mizo youths under the leadership of Mizo Zirlai Pawl, the state's largest student's body, allegedly confronting with Asom police and CRPF.

Official sources said here today the youth activists left Aizawl to Vairengte, the border town, yesterday to erect ''boundary pillars'' at what had been claimed to be Mizoram territory but allegedly occupied by Asom.

'' We have erected four to five wooden pillars before Asom police came and stopped us. At this time, the Asom DGP is expected to arrive, and talks will be arranged at high level,'' a student activist told UNI
