Sugar prices rise

Navi Mumbai, June 20 (UNI) Sugar prices rose on good demand, traders at the Vashi Sugar Merchant's Association today said.

Sugar in small and medium grades inched up by Rs two and Re one per quintal respectively, because of better buying support.

Ex-mill small grade went up by Re one on lesser stock supply while medium grade remained steady on moderate demand.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,316/1,346, Medium grade: Rs 1,351/1,416, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,281/1,375, Medium grade: Rs 1,340/1,370.
