Thiruvananthapuram, June 20 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the Special Task Force (STF) appointed by the government to evict encroachers from government land and demolish unauthorised structures in the hill station of Munnar would resume its operation from tomorrow.

Talking to mediapersons after a Cabinet meeting, he said STF chief K Suresh Kumar who was in Delhi on leave had been directed to proceed to Munnar on his return today and resume the operation.

Denying reports about his reluctance in resuming the operation in Munnar because of political interference, the Chief Minister said he had been granted leave as a week's time was required to make available adequate surveyors and equipment requisitioned by him to continue the eviction process.

To a question, Mr Achuthanandan said no other task forces had been appointed for the Munnar eviction and the STF headed by Mr Suresh Kumar would continue to discharge the responsibilities entrusted to it.
