State Finance Commission Constituted

Patna, Jun 20 (UNI) The Bihar government today constituted the state finace comnmission headed by a retired IAS officer D R Mehta.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said here that the fourth state finance commission was constituted as per the provision of section 168 of Bihar Panchayati Raj act 2006.

Former vice-chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University Dr Atul Sharma and an IAS officer of 1964 batch S P Keshav would be other members of the committee, he added.

The commission would evolve a formula for distribution of money between the panchayats and civic bodies from the state consolidated fund, Mr Modi informed.
