Minorities Council for repealing Anti Conversion Acts
Shimla, June 20 (UNI) All India Minorities and Social Welfare Council today demanded the repealing of Anti Conversion Acts enacted in Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh, saying it is against the interests of minorities.
Addressing mediapersons here, Council's president Rajeshwar Singh Negi also called upon the government to repeal reference to Sikhs, Budhists, Jains construed to be a reference to Hindus, including their religious institutions, under Article 25 of the Constitution.
Mr Negi said this definition was the denial of their distinct religion, culture, religious practice and identity.
