I can accept second term if there is certainty: Kalam

New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today assured a delegation of the newly formed United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) that he was ready for a second term if there was certainty about his election.

''As there is an overwhelming love and affection of the people from all sections of society and from all parts of the country, I can accept a second term of Presidency, provided there is certainty about this,'' Dr Kalam told the delegation, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman told UNI on being contacted on phone for the official version of what transpired at the meeting.

The President told the UNPA leaders, who included TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, that he was ''willing to wait for a few days for the certainty.'' UNI
