House Committee submits report on SDMC
Bangalore, June 20 (UNI) The House Committee, constituted by the Karnataka Legislative Council to study functioning of the School Development and Management Committees (SDMC), today submitted its report.
Committee Chairman L Hanumantaiah, after submitting the report to the Council Chairman B K Chandrasekhar, told reporters that the Committee had recommended a promotion of better coordination between SDMC members and the teaching staff.
It also recommended strengthening the SDMC system for improving the school administration.
He said the Committee had stressed for including more women members in the SDMC to end exploitation of women teachers by the SDMC members.
The House Committee was appointed following the suicide of a woman teacher at Venkatapur in Gadag district due to harassment by a SDMC member a few months ago.
