Dasmunsi pokes fun at third front

Lucknow, June 20 (UNI) Poking fun at the newly-formed third front, Union I&B and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi termed it an alliance of ''demoralised and disheartened'' former Chief Ministers.

Talking to mediapersons here after meeting Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati, Mr Dasmunsi said there was nothing as third front in the country.

''It is an alliance of former CMs, which has been created to pursue pressure politics,'' he said.

Meanwhile, the Minister said UP CM and BSP chief Mayawati had signed as a proposer, the nomination papers of Pratibha Patil, the presidential candidate of United Progressive Alliance (UPA). The same would be filed by June 23, he informed.

Acknowledging Ms Mayawati's support in this regard, the Union Minister noted that besides all the constituents of UPA, Ms Patil's candidature was getting ample support from outside too.
