UP: Case registered against SP MLA

Sultanpur, June 20: Uttar Pradesh police today filed a case against Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Anup Sanda for giving his licensed revolver to his driver without an authority letter.

Police sources said on September 6 last year, the driver of SP MLA misbehaved with the then Station House Officer (SHO) of Sitakund Nagar police station when he was asked to remove his car from the street.

The driver was carrying the revolver of the MLA and on being asked for the license, he started abusing the police official.

Later, 15-20 supporters of the MLA gheraoed the police station.

A case has been registered against Anup Sanda and his supporters under IPC Section 147, 148, 149, 353, 352, 504, 506, 341, 290 and 283, Criminal Law Amendment Act and Arms and Ammunitiona Act.
