AP cabinet approves Mini-Hydel Policy
Hyderabad, June 20 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh cabinet tonight gave its approval for a Mini-Hydel Policy to ensure development of mini-hydel stations without compromising on providing irrigation facilities for farmers.
Briefing newspersons on the cabinet decisions here, Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy said no objection certificate (NOC) would not be issued for construction of mini-hydel projects across Krishna, Godavari, Pennar and other rivers which the government might notify from time to time.
Mini-hydel projects would be considered only along streams and stringent punishment would be imposed for non-compliance or deviations of conditions and pollution control board norms, he added.
