Velu orders special trains
Chennai, Jun 19 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu has ordered to run special trains on Chennai Central-Dadar and Chennai Central-Mangalore sections to clear the extra rush of passengers.
A Southern railway press release said the Chennai Central-Dadar will leave Chennai Central at 2330 hrs on June 21 and arrive at Dadar at 0345 hrs on June 23. The train will stop at Arakkonam, Renigunta, Cuddappah, Yerraguntla, Tadipatri, Gooty, Guntakkal, Adoni, Manthralayam Road, Raichur, Wadi, Gulbarga, Solapur, Daund, Pune, Lonavala, Karjat and Kalyan.
The Chennai Central-Mangalore Special will leave here at 1700 hrs on June 23,26,28 and 30 and arrive at Mangalore at 0910 hrs. on the next day.
In its return direction, the train will leave Mangalore at 1700 hrs on June 24,27,29 and July one and arrive here at 0845 hrs the next day.
The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palghat, Shoranur, Tirur, Calicut, Badagara, Tellicherry, Cannanore, Kanhangad and Kasargod.
Advance reservation for these trains will commence from tomorrow, the release added.
