Two arrested for circulating fake currency

Surat, Jun 19 (UNI) Two persons have been arrested for allegedly circulating fake currency in the denomination of Rs 1,000.

The duo -- Ajay Gopal Bhulla (23) and Aslam (20) -- was arrested yesterday when they tried to give counterfeit currency to police head constable Kishorebhai Jiyabhai of Varachcha police station, near a shop 'Metro Kitchen' at Chitranagar Road in Varachcha area.

Police have registered a case under section 489 of the IPC and further investigations are on, sources added.
