Raptisagar Express rescheduled
Chennai, June 19 (UNI) The Thiruvananthapuram-Gorakhpur Raptisagar Express has been rescheduled due to the late arrival of its pairing train.
A Southern Railway release here today said the train, scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram at 0520 hrs tomorrow, would leave the Kerala capital at 0730 hrs the same day. Consequently, the train would leave Chennai Central at 0100 hrs on June 21, instead of 2315 hrs tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Southern Railway said that consequent to the closure of the Madurai-Dindigul metre gauge section with effect from June 22, for gauge conversion, the Madurai-Podanur-Madurai Express, Madurai-Palakkad-Madurai Passenger, Madurai-Bodinayakkanur-Madurai Passenger and Dindigul-Madurai-Dindigul Passenger trains in both directions would be cancelled from June 22.
However, the Dindigul-Madurai-Dindigul Passengers would run on broad gauge. The Dindigul-Madurai passenger would run as a late train on Mondays after the departure of Manmad-Madurai Express, the release added.
