Rainfall stops, rivers in spate in Manipur
Imphal, Jun 19 (UNI) Rains stopped today bringing respite to people here as rivers in the state were running at a dangerously high level.
Irrigation and flood department officials here said the Nambul river was flowing at a high level, while Imphal and the Iril rivers were also flowing at a high level.
The level of the rivers were between 780 - 785 m above sea level, which are quite high considering danger of flooding.
If further rainfall occurred, there was a possibility of major portions of the valley areas being submerged, officials added.
The minimum temperature today was recorded at about 22 degrees Celsius, while the maximum was about 29 degrees Celsius.
The humidity was about 75 per cent.
