Raids on chemist shops, one arrested
Phagwara, June 19 (UNI) Cracking down on the practice of illegal sale of prohibited medicines used as drugs by the youths, the city police today raided a number of chemist shops in the Model Town area of the district and arrested one person.
ASI Ashok Kumar said, "the police raided several chemist shops and seized 380 capsules of proxyvon, which can be used as drugs, from a shop, the shopkeeper was arrested and a case has been registered against him".
He said the alleged accused Mohinder, a resident Model Town, was selling the medicine, without any prescription.
Mr Kumar told UNI that he has been receiving complaints from the last few days against the open sale of prohibited medicines, which could be bought only if prescribed.
