Mfar Constructions wins environment award

Mumbai, June 19 (UNI) Bangalore-based Mfar Constructions Pvt Ltd today announced that it has been awarded the Golden Peacock for Environment Management, beating 176 other companies.

The award was given at a recent convention on Corporate Response to Climate Change held at Palampur in Himachal Pradesh from June 8-10.

''Working towards saving our environment is everyone's business,'' said Dr P Mohammad Ali, chairman of Mfar Constructions, in a release.

The Golden Peacock award is conferred annually by the Institute of Directors in association with the World Environment Foundation (WEF) to promote excellence in the area of quality environment management.

Mfar Constructions had a turnover of Rs 300 crore in 2006-07, and has also won a number of safety and innovation awards, the release added.
