MCD takes action against corrupt officials
New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today dismissed an Assistant Laboratory Assistant and suspended another on charges of irregularities on discharge of duty.
Assistant Laboratory Assistants at Swami Dayanand Hospital, Vinod Kumar, working on contract basis, was dismissed and Rajinder Kumar, was suspended with immediate effect, MCD Health Committee Chairman Vinod Kumar Monga said.
''The MCD will not tolerate any individual official or system, which effects patient care. Action will be stepped-up against the officials found derelict in performance of their duty,'' he added.
He said a four-member probe Committee had recommended severe action against the officials after a private news channel caught then on tape, selling blood in several bloods banks.
Dr Monga said MCD is constituting an Expert Committee to examine the existing status and functioning of its blood banks.
''The Committee will give recommendations, on how to provide better blood bank facilities to patients well in time without inconvenience,'' he added.
He said the Committee will also examine the upgrade of the available equipment and instruments in the blood banks.
