Mayawati meets Uttar Pradesh governor

Lucknow, June 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today called on Governor T V Rajeswar at the Raj Bhawan here and had a long discussion on various issues.

The meeting between the Governor and the CM lasted more than 90 minutes. Senior Bahujan Samaj Party leader and Cabinet Minister Satish Chandra Mishra was also present during the meeting.

Raj Bhawan sources, however, maintained the meeting as a routine one.

On the other hand speculations were rife that the meeting is related to certain decisions to be taken by the UP government, including probe against certain officials and politicians for misusing government funds during the past regime.

The CM is said to have discussed in detail about the coming budget session of the UP legislature starting from June 27.

The meeting is likely to have discussed the irregularities detected in the CPMT results. The probe committee, set up by the government in the CPMT irregularities is set to give their report today to the government.
