Low pressure likely to intensify
Hyderabad, June 19 (UNI) The morning's low pressure area over east-central Bay of Bengal persists and is likely to concentrate into a depression during the next 48 hours.
Under its influence, rainfall activity was likely to increase over Andhra Pradesh from June 21 to 23, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
Rain or thundershowers were likely at a few places over Andhra Pradesh during the next 36 hours. There would be an increase in rainfall activity thereafter.
The Southwest monsoon was vigorous over Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Isolated rain occurred over Telangana and Rayalaseema.
Palakonda recorded a heavy rainfall of 7 cm, followed by Salur 6, Visakhapatnam, Chodavaram, Elamanchili, Puttur and Tekkali 5 each, Visakhapatnam AP, Anakapalle, Narsipatnam and Rajahmundry 4 each, Amalapuram, Paderu and Palasa 3 each, Adilabad, Nandyal, Bobbili and Dowlaiswaram 2 each and Kakinada, Ongole, Tuni, Badvel, Bheemunipatnam, Cumbum, Kaleswaram, Komarada, Parvathipuram, Terlam, Mandasa, Veeraghattam, Peddapuram, Tadepalligudem and Tanuku one each.
Rain or thundershowers were likely in some parts of the State Capital.
