Nahan, June 19 (UNI) Lone Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) legislator in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Sadanand Chauhan today demanded Sirmaur district Deputy Commissioner R S Negi's transfer, accusing him of misusing funds and powers.

Addressing newspersons here, he said a sum of Rs 3.14 lakh sanctioned by him from his MLA development fund for the construction of a community hall in Harijan Basti at Nahan had not been constructed and the funds have been diverted to other works.

Alleging that instead of completing the sanctioned projects, Mr Chauhan said the DC was spending the funds at his whims and fancies.

He said it was most unfortunate that the finances released under the legislator's fund for projects, including road construction and drinking water and irrigation schemes, had not been spent since 2003 and had only been forwarded to the departments concerned.

''It is a matter of concern that even the detailed performa had not been prepared and no estimates of schemes prepared or being executed had ever been forwarded to me,'' he said.

The LJP leader said since the DC had failed in performing his duties, it was necessary that he be transferred immediately.

However, D C R S Negi denied all charges saying that no funds had been misused.
