HC dismisses writ petition challenging govt order
Kochi, June 19 (UNI) A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today disposed a writ petition challenging a recent government order, exempting the offices of political parties and places of worship from the eviction drive which was initiated against encroachement of government land.
The Bench, comprising Chief justice H L Dutta and Justice K T Sankaran disposed the petition when the government pleader submitted before the court, that the particular order had already been cancelled by the government.
On the other prayer of the petitioners John Peruvanthanan and K M A Majeed from Thrissur, who sought to demolish the encroachments, the court observed that it was for the government to take a decision on that.
