Mongolian helicopter crash kills 14 -Xinhua
ULAN BATOR, June 18 (Reuters) A helicopter on a fire-fighting mission crashed in northern Mongolia, killing 14 people and critically injuring four of the eight survivors, according to the Mongolian government press office.
The helicopter, a Russian-made Mi-8, disappeared on Thursday.
Search and rescue operations were hampered by rain and fog, delaying first confirmation of the crash until yesterday.
The helicopter crashed into a forest glade.
The survivors, aged 20-59, suffered burns, broken bones and exposure. They arrived in Ulan Bator for treatment today.
