Election win opens way to reforms -French PM
PARIS, June 17 (Reuters) French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said the centre-right's victory in today's parliamentary election would allow President Nicolas Sarkozy to enact his reform programme.
''Your participation has resulted in a clear and coherent choice, which will allow the president of the Republic to implement his project,'' Fillon said in a televised address.
Sarkozy's allies won a large majority in the legislative election, according to television projections, but fell short of the predicted landslide after talk of a sales tax hike appeared to cost them votes.
