Traders call on Jaipal Reddy over conversion charge
New Delhi, June 17 (UNI) A delegation of the Confederation of All India Traders(CAIT) today presented a memorandum to Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy reminding him of the assurance made on conversion charges.
Pointing out to a MCD notice published in some dailies today, the traders said despite his assurance to reconsider and restructure the conversion charges, no action has been initiated in this regard.
According to the notice non-payment of conversion charges till June 30 will attract penalty ten times of the amount of the charge.
The delegation also urged to make the conversion charge a one time fee instead of the present annual.
Assuring to look into their demands, Mr Reddy categorically said problems of traders and those of people were already being taken care of and issues would be resolved in order to create a better trading atmosphere in national capital.
He added that the Master Plan will sail through judicial scrutiny as projections made in the plan were based on ground realities and availability of resources.
