ONGC's gesture on infrastructure development in AP

Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, June 17 (UNI) ONGC Rajahmundry asset has given Rs 933.38 crore to the Andhra Pradesh government between the period 2001 and 2007 and Rs 7,492.21 lakh has been spent in East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts between 1987 and 2007 for developing infrastructure, laying and improving roads and bridges and towards socio-economic and community development.

Executive Director Khan said Rajahmundry asset was the highest onshore gas producing asset and it was the only asset which produced from both onshore and offshore area of Krishna Godavari basin.

During 2006-07 Rajahmundry asset had produced 25,1321 mt of crude oil and 1,525.066 metric tonnes of natural gas and 92,947 mt of value added products.

He said the gross revenue profit and contribution to the exchequer for both state and Central governments paid during the year 2005-06 was highest ever contribution in a single year.

During 2006-07, in the form of royalty and sales tax ONGC had greatly contributed to the economic development of the region. The project activities gave direct and indirect employment to number of people every year.
