Minor boy falls into borewell in Pune

Pune, June 17: A five-year-old boy slipped into a borewell today and stuck at a depth of around 150 feet at Wadgaon Rasai village in Shirur taluka of this district.

Police said the child, Shivaji Kantilal Deshmukh, was playing near the borewell when he fell into it around 1000 hrs at Wadgaon Rasai village in Shirur taluka, about 50 km from here.

The villagers informed the police and fire brigade besides District Collector Prabhakar Deshmukh.

Deputy fire brigade officer, Sangwekar, told sources that a rescue team had reached the spot and efforts were underway to rescue the boy.
