Haryana takes precautionary measures on flood control
Chandigarh, June 17 (UNI) The Haryana government has taken various steps to control the flood situation in the state during the coming monsoon season as a precautionary measure.
Haryana Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh Yadav said District Level Inspection Committees had been set up in each district of the state.
These committees would be headed by respective Deputy Commissioners, Senior Engineers of the Irrigation, Public Health, Building and Roads Departments and Superintendents of Police.
These committees would monitor the protection measures to safeguard against breaches in bunds and nullahs by floods.
The Minister said the committees would also inspect flood protection works and send their report to the Government.
They would check the necessary repair works carried out by the concerned departments.
