Thirunelveli, June 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today reiterated his government's commitment towards land reforms and redistribution of land to the landless poor.

Addressing the conference on 'right to land' organised by the Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) here this evening he said the ongoing land distribution would continue with renewed vigour. It would be reviewed every month to improve the efficiency of the administrative machinery and to achieve the goal of 'land to all'.

Referring to the resolution passed in the conference, demanding 'rightful share' for the dalits and the marginalised in government resources, temple land and government tenders, he said every effort would be made in that direction.

The central thread running through the 23rd resolution was annihilation of caste system and eradication of social discrimination and imbalance.

Referring to the conference dias, which looked like a 'hut', the Dravidian leader remarked that a similar conference, a few years later, should not be a hut but a pucca house, indicating the changes.

Commenting at the AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa, he said the dias (after a few years) should not be like the bungalow at the Kodanadu estate. It should Rather identify with the flesh and blood of the toiling masses, he added.

Calling for creating awareness among the Dalits on the ideology for their liberation, he said a campaign would be launched to reach out to them.
