Flash strike by junior doctors at DMCH

Darbhanga, Jun 17 (UNI) Health services at Darbhanga Medical College Hospital (DMCH) here came to a halt today after junior doctors went on a 'flash strike' last night protesting against 'manhandling' of their colleagues by some patients' kins.

DMCH superintendent Dr SK Shandilya said doctors proceeded on strike after the relatives of some patients assaulted the attending junior doctors.

The kins of the pateints had alleged that the junior doctors were not treating the patients properly.

However, attempts were being made to persuade the doctors to resume their duties, he added.

''After several such incidents of misbehave with doctors by the patients' relatives earlier, atmosphere in the hospital have become unsafe,'' a spokesman of the Junior Doctors Association said.

The association had also warned that even emergency services would not be restored till proper security was provided to them at the hospital premises.
