3 drown in river

Tirunelveli, June 17 (UNI) Three people drowned in Tamarabarani river in Veeravanallur village while crossing it yesterday.

Police today said the deceased were identified as Ammaiappan (39) and his two daughters Karthiga (13) and Rajalakhsmi (4).

The three were on their way to a temple on the other side of the river.

While the fire service personnel fished out the body of Rajalakhsmi, efforts were on to recover other two bodies, police added.
