Woman allegedly charred to death for dowry

Allahabad, June 16 (UNI) A woman allegedly died under mysterious circumstances in Nawabganj area here.

In his complaint, the victim's father claimed his daughter Gudiya, married two years ago to Babban Tiwari of Sonebarsa village, was reportedly constantly harassed for money, the police said.

Late yesterday, Gudiya's in-laws ''set her afire'' after she failed to meet their dowry demand.

Meanwhile, investigation were under way police added.
