We can manage without a full time coach for now: Yuvi

Bangalore, Jun 15 (UNI) Team India can manage the show without a full time coach, Allrounder Yuvraj Singh said today.

Speaking to newsmen after the team's practice session here he said that in the just concluded Bangladesh Tour, the team did not have a full time coach and the void was filled by the supporting staff besides specialist coaches.

He said ''I think it won't be a problem for now as we played without one (full time coach) in Bangladesh. Ravi Shastri was there to help us and the specialist coaches B K Venkatesh Prasad (bowling) and Robin Singh (fielding) have been of great help. The team is looking very good and rearing to go." Indian team, which leaves for Ireland on June 19, would play five matches -- one against Ireland (June 23), three against South Africa (June 26, 29, July 1) in Ireland and one against Pakistan (July 3) in Scotland.

He said the team was taking the tour of Ireland very seriously as it was crucial to 'get into the groove'. "It will be important that we start well against the South Africans. We play England later and Australians will be coming in next. This tour will be very important. It is going to be a tough tour and we will have to be very strong, both mentally and physically. This camp has helped. Though it looks simple it has been very effective," he asserted.

Speaking on the England tour, Yuvi said Monty Panesar, who had been tormenting the touring West Indians, may not pose a great danger to the Indians as they had been well known as good batters against spin. "We always play spinners better. This is not to take away any credit from Monty who looked dangerous against the Windies.

But we will be looking thoroughly at all the bowlers the English side comes up with. Not just Panesar," he said.
