Two diesel robbers nabbed

Kolhapur, June 16 (UNI) The police here today claimed that they have busted a gang of diesel robbers by arresting its two members at Shirala tehsil town in the neighbouring Sangli district.

The gang members used to steal diesel from the parked trucks during the night at the petrol pumps or nearby safer places. During last eight days, about 130 litres to 150 litres of fuel was stolen from 25 trucks by them, Shahuwadi police said.

The Shahuwadi Taluka Motor-malak Sanghtana (Lorry operators association) members had lodged a complaint with them about diesel being stolen from the parked trucks at night. The Sanghtana members helped them arrest two members at Shirala tehsil town in Sangli district after a long pursuit, they added.
