Sub-Inspector, constables injured in stone pelting

Hyderabad, June 16 (UNI) A Sub-Inspector and five constables were injured when residents of Chintalkunta area hurled stones at the police, who had come along with revenue officials to remove illegal constructions today.

The revenue officials and the police came to Chintalkunta area to evict people who had illegally constructed houses there.

Following the eviction drive, the agitated residents pelted stones at the officials and the police.

Though the officials promised the residents to provide alternative sites, they did not heed to it.

Later, the police took some trouble makers into custody and removed the illegal constructions.
