M'shtra: Shiv Sena activists stage rasta roko
Kolhapur, June 16: Shiv Sena activists today staged a 'rasta roko' (road blockade) agitation to draw the Maharashtra government's attention towards the failure of sugar factories to release the second instalment of payment to sugarcane growers.
The Sena activists, led by district chief Rambhau Chavan and Sanjay Pawar, staged the agitation at the city's entrance point Shivaji bridge, Sangli naka point and Radhanagari, resulting in vehicular traffic jam on the three routes.
Police opened the roads for vehicular traffic by arresting all the activists, who were released later, police said.
