Punjabi author Surinder Singh Narula dead
Ludhiana, June 16 (UNI) Punjabi fiction writer and poet Surinder Singh Narula died here today after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Mr Narula had over three dozen novels, story books and collections of poetry to his credit.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal expressed deep shock at the demise of the writer. ''by the death of Mr Narula, Punjab has lost a writer whose writings gave it a new identity and a social purpose,'' he said in a condolence message.
Mr Badal also conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
